Nighttime Program Utilizing Digital Technology
Spectacular Attractions at Eight National Heritage Sites, Including Gunsan and Jinju Fortress
The Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Heritage Service announced on August 4 that they will sequentially hold the 'National Heritage Media Art' event at eight locations nationwide from this month through November.
This is a nighttime viewing program utilizing digital technology. Last year, a record high of 1.48 million people visited and attended the event.
This year, spectacular attractions will be presented at venues such as the former Gunsan Customs Main Building, Jinju Fortress, Goryeong Jisan-dong Tumuli, Cheorwon Nodongdangsa, Tongyeong Samdosugun Tongjeyeong, and Gyeongju Daereungwon.
In Gunsan, from August 8 to August 30, a program will be introduced that tells the story of a time-traveling journey of a grandfather and his granddaughter Saebyeol, who carry the painful history of Gunsan. The program uses the windows of the Bank of Joseon to express the lives of old Gunsan residents through light.
At Jinju Fortress, from August 15, which is Liberation Day, to September 7, a festival of lights will be held under the theme 'Be Inspired by the Past and Create the New, Jinju Fortress Map.'
At the Goryeong Jisan-dong Tumuli, programs such as 'Memory of Daegaya' and 'Twelve Stars,' which reinterpret the myths and culture of the ancient state of Daegaya in a modern way, will be held starting next month. In Cheorwon, media art will be showcased using the Nodongdangsa building as a backdrop. At Tongyeong Samdosugun Tongjeyeong, three-dimensional images projected above Sebyeonggwan will captivate the eyes of visitors.
