Gyeonggi Province has launched the 'Gyeonggi Aideumpbook (BOOK) Support Project' on August 1, offering three books free of charge to expectant parents residing in the province.
This project was established to provide emotional stability to expectant parents as they prepare for childbirth and childrearing.
Pregnant women who reside in Gyeonggi Province as of the application date and whose pregnancy has been confirmed can apply up to 30 days before their expected delivery date.
Applications must be submitted online through 'Gyeonggi Minwon24'. When applying, applicants are required to submit a resident registration certificate, a pregnancy confirmation document, and, for foreigners, either a foreigner registration card or a certificate of domestic residence report.
Once the documents are verified and the application is accepted, three books and an informational leaflet on Gyeonggi Province's policies related to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare will be sent to the address provided in the application.
The books offered were selected by a book selection committee composed of childcare and parenting experts, book specialists, and pregnant residents of the province.
The books cover topics such as childcare information, establishing parental values, prenatal education, and health. The list of books can be checked on the application page of the Gyeonggi Minwon24 website.
Lim Yonggyu, Director of the Family Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We hope that expectant parents will spend each day waiting for childbirth in good health, accompanied by the books prepared by Gyeonggi Province."
