Kim Sunmin, acting leader of the Korea Innovation Party, addressed Jeong Cheongrae, who was elected as the new leader of the Democratic Party of Korea on August 2, stating, "I am confident that Jeong's election will serve as another turning point that will completely end the rebellion and further strengthen democracy in this country."

Acting leader Kim delivered this congratulatory message to the press corps immediately after Jeong's election that afternoon, saying, "Leader Jeong has repeatedly expressed his determination to resolve the rebellion by emphasizing 'the dissolution of the prosecution' and 'the dissolution of the People Power Party, a party of rebellion.' These goals are mostly aligned with those of the Korea Innovation Party."
He added, "This is why I expect Leader Jeong will further solidify the unity not only within the Democratic Party but also among all those who wish to defend constitutional order and restore democracy."
He also emphasized, "President Lee Jaemyung once described the relationship between the Democratic Party and the Korea Innovation Party as one where both parties support each other like the character 'In' (person) in Hanja. I believe this friendly relationship between the parties will continue in the future as well."
