Proposals Invited Across Various Fields Including Local Economy and Welfare
The "Resident Participatory Budget System" is a system that allows residents to directly participate in the budget planning process by proposing and deciding on projects needed in the region. Through this system, the county has enhanced the transparency of financial management and identified projects closely related to residents' lives.
This contest will be conducted in various fields, including revitalization of the local economy, improvement of living environments, promotion of culture and tourism, and enhancement of social welfare. Not only residents of Wando but also members of companies and organizations located in the county are eligible to participate.
Proposals can be conveniently submitted online through "Jumin e-Chamyeo" (the dedicated participatory budget website). Submissions are also accepted via in-person visits, mail, fax, or email. The proposals received will be reviewed by the relevant departments and deliberated by the Resident Participatory Budget Committee, and will be reflected in the 2026 main budget. Last year, nine projects totaling 765 million won were included in the budget, contributing to the improvement of residents' welfare.
Han Heeseok, Director of Planning and Budget, stated, "The valuable ideas of our residents form an important foundation for the future of Wando," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that residents' opinions are actively reflected in county administration."
