Gwangju Community Chest of Korea announced on August 1 that Shin Hyunkook and Park Jungyeon, CEOs of Dokyung Construction Co., Ltd., have completed the full payment of their pledged donation of 100 million won after joining the Honor Society in 2021, and held a handprinting ceremony to commemorate the occasion.
The handprinting event, which took place on July 31 at the Dokyung Construction Co., Ltd. office, was attended by Koo Jaegil, Chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, CEOs Shin Hyunkook and Park Jungyeon, and their family members.
This event was organized to celebrate the couple’s first daughter’s birthday, and it is reported that they chose this special day to share the meaning of giving with their family. The couple expressed, "It is even more meaningful to leave a lasting mark on our beloved daughter’s birthday," and added, "We want to continue the value of sharing together as a family."
Shin Hyunkook and Park Jungyeon both joined the Honor Society on March 16, 2021, their wedding anniversary, becoming the 120th and 121st members in Gwangju, and were also registered as the 18th couple Honor Society members in Gwangju. With the completion of this donation, both have now fulfilled their commitments as full members of the Honor Society.
By completing their pledged donation amount this year, the handprinting event became a significant moment marking the official conclusion of their philanthropic journey as Honor Society members.
Meanwhile, Dokyung Construction, established in April 2013 in Jangseong-gun, is a specialized company in pavement construction and facility maintenance. The company has attracted industry attention by commercializing a "road anti-icing technology" that can prevent major accidents caused by thin ice during the winter season.
