Gijang Baseball Club Wins First Presidential National Middle School Baseball Tournament Title... National Champions in Just One Year Since Founding Gijang Baseball Club won the 55th Presidential Cup National Middle School Baseball Tournament and is taking a commemorative photo.

This tournament, hosted by the Korea Baseball Softball Association and organized by the Busan Baseball Softball Association, was held at Gijang Hyundai Motor Dream Ballpark from July 23 to July 31. A total of 43 teams from across the country fiercely competed in the event.

The newly established Gijang Baseball Club (Gijang BC), founded in 2024, achieved a remarkable feat by winning a national tournament just one year after its founding, following its victory at the 9th Gijang County Governor's Youth Baseball Tournament in February this year.

Gijang BC advanced to the finals with solid teamwork from the preliminary rounds, defeating both Seoul Baemyeong Middle School and Daechi Middle School in the semifinals and quarterfinals. In the final, they secured a decisive 11-4 victory over last year's champion, Gyeongnam Middle School, to lift the championship trophy.

Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "I am extremely proud that Gijang County has achieved the significant accomplishment of winning the Presidential National Tournament," and added, "We will actively support the development of youth baseball."

At this tournament, Gijang BC produced multiple award winners, including Ha Seonguk (Most Valuable Player), Park Chanuk (Best Pitcher), Kim Hyunjung (Merit Award), Yoon Seonjun (2nd place in Stolen Bases and Batting), Jeong Minchan (3rd place in Batting), Kim Junho (Manager Award), Jeong Gyeongho (Coaching Award), and Choi Jeongsik (Merit Award, President of the Gijang County Baseball Softball Association).

Gijang County evaluated this achievement as the result of youth sports policies, community interest, and the passion of the team. The county plans to continue its support to further establish itself as a center for youth baseball nationwide.
