Up to 30% Refund Event
at Traditional Markets
A promotion offering Onnuri gift certificate refunds for purchases of domestic seafood at traditional markets will be held until August 5. This initiative aims to encourage local consumption within the community.
According to Sejong City on August 1, this event is organized by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to help ease the perceived price burden of seafood and boost consumption during the summer vacation period. Traditional markets have been selected as participating venues. During the event period, customers who purchase domestic seafood at traditional markets will receive a refund of up to 30% of their purchase in the form of Onnuri gift certificates.
The refund is limited to a maximum of 20,000 won per person during the event period. For purchases between 34,000 won and less than 67,000 won, customers will receive a 10,000 won Onnuri gift certificate. For purchases of 67,000 won or more, the refund increases to 20,000 won.
In particular, the introduction of a simplified refund system has improved convenience for both sellers and consumers. Under this system, the seller enters the seafood buyer's mobile phone number and purchase amount into a dedicated app. The buyer then presents their phone number and verifies their identity at the on-site refund booth to receive the Onnuri gift certificate.
The Onnuri gift certificate refunds will be available daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the refund booth located at the customer lounge in the second public parking lot of the traditional market throughout the event period.
A city official stated, "We expect this to provide substantial support to the local economy during the summer," and added, "We hope citizens will enjoy a healthy summer vacation by purchasing reliable domestic seafood at traditional markets."
