"RCY Global Leader Program Launched to Nurture 100 Global Youth Talents"

A full-time professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies is giving a lecture to participants in the "2nd RCY Global Leader Program." Korean Red Cross

The Korean Red Cross (President Kim Cheolsoo) announced on August 1 that it held the "2nd RCY Global Leader Program" for five days from July 28 to August 1 to foster international awareness and a spirit of humanitarianism among youth.

The "RCY Global Leader Program" is a public-private partnership leadership education program that combines the international reach of the Red Cross, which has a humanitarian network in 191 countries worldwide, the specialized educational capabilities of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, a leading global educational institution in Korea, and the social contribution philosophy of the Imdang Scholarship and Culture Foundation, which supports young talent. The program will be held a total of three times this year, aiming to nurture 100 global youth talents annually.

This session was attended by a total of 37 participants, including middle and high school RCY members and university RCY members. Participants were divided into groups by school level (middle school, high school, university) and took part in a variety of programs, including ▲ impromptu speaking skills training, ▲ information and persuasion-focused presentation education, ▲ problem-solving training centered on discussion and debate, and ▲ international cultural understanding and social media practice. All sessions were conducted in English and led by full-time faculty members from the International Social Education Institute at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. On the final day, participants shared their learning outcomes through group presentations by topic.

Graduates of the program will be given opportunities to participate in international humanitarian activities, such as youth international conferences organized by the Korean Red Cross, overseas volunteer activities, and the East Asia Youth Network (EAYN).

Kim Cheolsoo, President of the Korean Red Cross, said, "I hope this program will serve as a starting point for nurturing youth leaders equipped with both humanitarian values and a global perspective," and added, "We will continue to take the lead in fostering the next generation through a variety of educational programs."
