At approximately 10:46 p.m. on July 31, 2025, firefighters were conducting rescue operations after the floor of a second-story commercial building collapsed in Yangdeok-dong, Masan Hoewon-gu, Changwon, Gyeongnam Province.
According to the Changwon Fire Department on August 1, five people who were inside the building became trapped when the floor gave way.
Of these, one person escaped on their own, while three others were rescued with the assistance of responding firefighters and transported to a nearby hospital.
The remaining individual was being rescued using heavy equipment.
A total of 61 personnel, including rescue workers, and 20 pieces of equipment such as excavators, were deployed to the scene.
The police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the accident and the extent of the damage once the emergency response is complete.
