Implementation Begins August 1
"Realizing Resident-Centered Administration"
Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced on July 31 that, starting August 1, residents will be able to obtain Resident Registration Certificates and Abstracts free of charge from 13 unmanned civil document issuance kiosks within the county, in an effort to improve civil service and alleviate the economic burden on residents.
Previously, a fee of 200 won per document was charged when issuing Resident Registration Certificates and Abstracts from these kiosks. However, going forward, all unmanned civil document issuance kiosks installed within the county will provide these documents free of charge.
This implementation of free issuance reflects the county's commitment to prompt civil service by encouraging greater use of unmanned kiosks. The county expects that the number of issued documents will continue to increase steadily.
A county official stated, "By implementing free issuance at unmanned kiosks, we expect to reduce the economic burden on residents and further improve administrative accessibility," adding, "We will continue to pursue various improvements to realize resident-centered civil administration."
The county currently operates unmanned civil document issuance kiosks at 13 locations, including the county office civil service center and Eup-Myeon Administrative Welfare Centers. The locations and operating hours of the kiosks can be checked on the county office website or through Eup-Myeon offices.
