Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province has provided heat illness prevention supplies and promoted agricultural work safety guidelines to approximately 1,000 farmers working in vulnerable environments during the peak summer heat period. The recipients include elderly farmers, female farmers, and foreign seasonal workers who are particularly susceptible to heat-related illnesses.

On July 31, the city especially distributed heat illness prevention supplies to facility horticulture farmers, focusing on foreign seasonal workers who are vulnerable to heat waves, and provided guidance on actions to take in response to extreme heat.
Recently, as temperatures have risen sharply, the risk of sudden heat illness symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and muscle cramps has increased for those working in greenhouses and agricultural worksites.
In response, the city has supplied 2,000 heat illness prevention items (neckband fans and neck coolers) and is strengthening promotional activities on agricultural work safety rules, such as refraining from farm work during the daytime, wearing loose, light-colored clothing, and drinking water frequently. These activities include regular visits to farms and shared worksites.
Lee Songju, Director of the Yangju Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "We will make every effort to minimize heat wave damage by encouraging farmers vulnerable to heat waves to practice safety rules in their daily lives and by continuously providing on-site guidance, including prohibiting work during the hottest hours of the day."
