Park: "Do Not Call This Political Retaliation"
Park Chan-dae, a candidate for the Democratic Party leadership, asserted on the 31st that "the power created by corruption and heresy is now coming to an end," targeting Kwon Seong-dong of the People Power Party, who is facing allegations of illegal political funds involving Shincheonji and the Unification Church.
On this day, Park posted on Facebook under the title "Goodbye, Representative Kwon Seong-dong," stating, "The special prosecutor investigating Kim Keon-hee has designated Kwon Seong-dong as a 'suspect.' He is accused of receiving illegal political funds worth hundreds of millions of won from the Unification Church and even receiving organized support during the party leadership election."
It has been reported that in the arrest warrant request for Yoon Young-ho, the former head of the Unification Church World Headquarters, the Kim Keon-hee special prosecutor's team specified that "the Unification Church side donated illegal political funds in the amount of around 100 million won to Kwon and others." In response, Kwon stated, "I have never had any inappropriate relationship with the Unification Church, including financial transactions, solicitations, or any form of organized connection."
However, Park countered, "Representative Kwon, do you still feel confident? Are you going to insist this is another conspiracy theory?" He added, "You attack me and the Democratic Party several times a day on social media?could it be that you are afraid?"
Park further warned, "Let me warn you in advance. Do not call this investigation political retaliation," and continued, "Who can you blame? It is simply your wrongdoing, and you are being punished for it."
He also emphasized, "I have proven through countless battles that justice ultimately prevails," and added, "I will make sure to put an end to Kwon Seong-dong's illegal political journey, in which he deceived the public and joined hands with heretical groups, this time for sure."
