"Tailored Training Program to Enhance Professionalism and Effectiveness of Local Councils"
On the 31st, Gwangju City Council held the "Local Council Members Duty Training Visiting Gwangju Area" at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Sangmu District, Seo-gu, with Chairman Shin Sujeong, Mayor Kang Gijeong, Director Ahn Junho of the Local Autonomy Human Resources Development Institute, and chairpersons of five autonomous districts attending. The Gwangju City Council (Chairperson Shin Sujeong) held the "On-site Training for Local Council Members in Gwangju" on July 31 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Sangmu District, Seo-gu.
This training program was organized by the Local Council Training Center of the Local Government Officials Development Institute and is a customized educational program for local council members and administrative staff in the Gwangju region. The event was attended by Chairperson Shin Sujeong, Mayor Kang Gijung, Director Ahn Junho of the Local Government Officials Development Institute, as well as the chairpersons of the five district councils and other key figures from the Gwangju area.
The training was designed to enhance the expertise of local council members and administrative staff in legislative activities and to help them proactively respond to the rapidly changing local community environment. The program was conducted as a practical, work-focused curriculum consisting of three subjects: policy, job duties, and general competence.
The curriculum included the following core topics, which balanced local issues and future environments: ▲Two Shadows Threatening Gwangju: Low Birth Rate and Aging Population (Policy) ▲Creating Good Ordinances (Job Duties) ▲Artificial Intelligence, the Future Already With Us (General Competence).
Chairperson Shin Sujeong stated, "This training is a customized program that closely reflects the realities of Gwangju and legislative activities, and it will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen the professionalism and effectiveness of the local council." She added, "I expect that council members and administrative staff, by participating together, will be able to enhance their capabilities to develop policies that enrich the lives of local residents."
