On July 31, the Gumi Police Station in North Gyeongsang Province announced that it had awarded a commendation to Police Officer Kim Minjeong of the Hyeonggok District Police Box for her contribution to protecting citizens' property, and a letter of appreciation to Bank Employee A of the Gumi Livestock Cooperative Sinpyeong Branch.

Officer Kim Minjeong recently analyzed CCTV footage quickly during a wallet theft incident at a library, tracked the suspect's movements, and apprehended the perpetrator in just one hour. After persistent questioning, Officer Kim obtained a confession. She has consistently been recognized for her outstanding initial response to incidents and her video analysis skills.

Bank Employee A, who received the letter of appreciation, became suspicious when a customer attempted to withdraw 70 million won and immediately reported it to the police. The police responded to the scene, checked the victim's Telegram app on their mobile phone, uncovered the fact that it was a voice phishing scam, and blocked further contact with the scammer, thereby preventing financial loss.

Lee Heeseok, Chief of Gumi Police Station, emphasized, "The persistence of our on-site officers and the swift response of the financial institution protected the valuable property of citizens," adding, "We will continue to cooperate with the local community to create a safe public security environment."
