The Hwayang-myeon Community Social Security Council in Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do announced on the 31st that it held an event on the 30th to provide meal side dish coupons worth 50,000 won each to 30 households of middle-aged individuals living alone in the area.


The Hwayang-myeon joint fundraising project aims to address nutritional imbalance and alleviate daily life difficulties for middle-aged people who struggle to have healthy meals due to economic hardship and social isolation. The coupon support is provided twice a year, and recipients can visit designated professional side dish stores to purchase and receive side dishes of their choice.


Kim Mangon, the private chairperson, emphasized, "Middle-aged people living alone are often in welfare blind spots and frequently require support. We will do our best to help them maintain a healthy diet and strengthen their connection with the local community by providing these side dish coupons."


Choi Cheolung, the head of Hwayang-myeon, stated, "The various projects of the Hwayang-myeon Community Social Security Council, which cover all age groups, are greatly contributing to resolving welfare blind spots and to the development of Hwayang-myeon. The township office will also work in step with the community council to further develop these projects into even more meaningful initiatives."
