The Gyeongsangnam-do Branch of the Korea Special Mission Merit Association visited farms in Sinan-myeon, Sancheong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, on July 31 to assist with flood recovery efforts following heavy rainfall in the area.

On this day, members worked hard to restore flood-damaged farms by clearing debris with excavators and sickles, dismantling greenhouses, and organizing materials.
Lee Seunghwa, the mayor of Sancheong-gun, also visited the site to encourage the association members who were dedicated to the recovery work despite the heatwave.
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, where this volunteer activity took place, suffered damage from heavy rainfall between July 8 and July 10, making it an area in urgent need of assistance for flood recovery.
Na Bongchun, the branch president, stated, "I am grateful to the members who voluntarily gathered to share in the pain of the flood-affected areas, and I hope our efforts will provide some strength to the residents who suffered flood damage. We will continue to provide unwavering support for disaster site recovery wherever help is needed."
Meanwhile, the Korea Special Mission Merit Association is a public organization established in 2008, composed of individuals who made special sacrifices for the nation. The association conducts more than 1,800 disaster relief activities annually, including underwater cleanup of the Namgang River in Jinju ahead of the Gyeongnam Provincial Sports Festival in April and wildfire recovery work in Sancheong in May, as part of its ongoing social contribution activities.
