The Citizen Participation Committee (Chairperson Lee Donghwan, hereafter referred to as the Committee) is a public-private governance body that enables citizens to participate in all aspects of city administration by identifying various issues in Goyang and seeking alternatives.
The 2nd Committee, which has been active since August 2023, has proposed 22 agenda items to relevant departments and has worked to realize practical public-private cooperation by holding public-private cooperation meetings, conducting on-site visits, and researching case studies from other cities and counties.
At this meeting, the Committee evaluated its two years of activities and decided to propose 10 agenda items, which were submitted by subcommittees, to the city administration through focused discussions.
In his remarks, Goyang Mayor Lee Donghwan emphasized, "The Goyang Citizen Participation Committee has actively carried out initiatives planned by citizens and evaluated through the eyes of citizens over the past two years. This has laid the foundation for strengthening the link between city administration and citizens."
He continued, "We will provide the utmost support so that the newly launched 3rd Citizen Participation Committee can engage in deeper discussions and policy implementation based on the experiences and achievements of the 2nd Committee."
The term of the 2nd Committee is scheduled to expire on August 30. The city plans to form the 3rd Citizen Participation Committee through an open recruitment process.
