▨ How to Donate Funds and Supplies

Gapyeong County is providing detailed guidance through the Welfare Policy Division’s Hope Sharing Team for residents and organizations wishing to make donations.

Monetary donations can be made via designated accounts of the Community Chest of Korea (Sarangui Yeolmae), and the use of the funds depends on the account to which the money is deposited.

If you deposit into the "Neighbor Assistance Account," the entire amount will be directly used to support households in Gapyeong County affected by the flood.

If you transfer funds to the "Disaster Relief Account," the donations will be used nationwide through the National Disaster Relief Association.

Relief supplies will be prioritized for severely affected areas such as Jojong-myeon, Gapyeong-eup, Sang-myeon, and Buk-myeon, and can also be donated directly to the administrative welfare centers in each town.

Donation receipts can be issued to donors. Those donating funds must submit a donation application form, while those donating goods must bring a purchase receipt or a certificate confirming the book value.

An official from the county stated, "Both monetary and material donations are being delivered directly to the affected sites," and added, "We ask for your interest and participation so that this support can provide real help to our residents."

Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province, as a sister city, also contributed to the flood recovery efforts. On July 30, Bang Sehwan, Mayor of Gwangju, and Seo Taewon, Head of Gapyeong County, visited Hangsa-ri in Sang-myeon, one of the hardest-hit areas, and participated in recovery activities together.

Gwangju City dispatched about 90 public officials and volunteers to assist residents by cleaning flooded greenhouses and collecting waste.

The two local governments, which forged ties as hosts of the Gyeonggi Provincial Sports Festival, expanded their relationship through solidarity and cooperation in this disaster response.

Seo Taewon, Head of Gapyeong County, expressed his gratitude, saying, "The warm solidarity from Gwangju City has been a great source of strength." In response, Bang Sehwan, Mayor of Gwangju, stated, "We will continue our strong cooperation with Gapyeong County in the future."

▨ A Relay of Donations Continues in Jojong-myeon... Support from Across the Country

In particular, Jojong-myeon, which suffered the most severe damage from the heavy rainfall, continues to receive voluntary donations and volunteer work from individuals, companies, religious organizations, and military units.

Starting with monetary donations from Cheongpyeong K Sutbul Dakgalbi and resident Son Bomi, groups such as the KT Volunteer Corps, Jungnang District Council, Icheon City Council, and Korea JTS have provided daily necessities such as bottled water, instant rice, and cup noodles.

Religious organizations such as Cheongpyeongam, the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, and the World Christian Unification Holy Spirit Association have also continued to donate funds.

Other contributors include Hyunrimyeong Dental Clinic, Wooju Industrial Development Co., the Korean Red Cross, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, Maengho Unit, and the Ministry of Justice’s Youth Crime Prevention Committee, all of whom have donated relief supplies.

Creative and practical support from donors is also drawing attention, such as an anonymous general store in Daegu sending underwear and pants.

Water Bill Reductions Implemented for Flood-Affected Residents

Gapyeong County is implementing reductions in water and sewage bills for residents in areas designated as special disaster zones.

The beneficiaries are those whose damages have been confirmed in the NDMS, and they will receive a 50% discount on their bills for the two months of August and September.

Residents who have difficulty paying can also extend the payment deadline by two months.

The head of the Waterworks Office stated, "We hope this measure will provide real help and lead to a swift return to normal life for our residents."

The county is also conducting emergency restoration of water supply facilities and providing emergency water supply in parallel.
