When You Crave Delivery, Use "Ttaenggyeoyo"... Busan City Launches Public Delivery App with 2% Commission

Dongbaekjeon Payments Available Starting August 1

Busan City is set to actively promote its public delivery app.

On July 31 at 11:00 a.m., Busan City (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the promotion of the “Busan Small Business Public Delivery App” with Shinhan Bank and various civic, consumer, and small business organizations at the International Protocol Room of City Hall.

This agreement is intended to support small business owners who are struggling with the high commission fees of major platforms. It aims to strengthen cooperation with Shinhan Bank, which currently operates the “Ttaenggyeoyo” delivery app with a low intermediary commission rate of 2%.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mayor Park Hyungjoon, Shinhan Bank President Jung Sanghyuk, the Executive Representative of the Busan Civic Organization Council, the President of the Busan Consumer Organization Council, the President of the Busan Small Business Association, the President of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association Busan Branch, and the President of the Korea Franchise Association Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Branch.

Local small business owners can use the “Ttaenggyeoyo” app with only a 2% intermediary commission, without entrance fees, monthly usage fees, or advertising costs. They can also benefit from same-day settlement services and marketing support. Related organizations plan to intensify promotional activities to expand the number of affiliated stores.

Starting August 1, it will be possible to pay with the local currency “Dongbaekjeon” on the “Ttaenggyeoyo” app. Seven percent of the payment amount will be refunded as cashback, and the “Minsheng Recovery Consumption Coupon” provided as Dongbaekjeon can also be used. However, when using the consumption coupon, cashback will not be provided.

From September, a feature to check the Dongbaekjeon balance will also be available on the payment screen of the “Ttaenggyeoyo” app.

In connection with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ “Public Delivery App Activation Consumption Coupon Project,” a discount coupon worth 10,000 won will be provided when users place two orders of at least 20,000 won each through the “Ttaenggyeoyo” app.

In addition, the city will hold an event until August 31, offering policy support funds (ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 won) by lottery to customers who spend 180,000 won or more using the Minsheng Recovery Consumption Coupon. Citizens are automatically entered, and affiliated stores become eligible upon new registration.

Shinhan Bank also announced a plan to provide 20 billion won in financial support for small business owners participating in the public delivery app. To this end, 1.4 billion won will be specially contributed, and each business can receive up to 100 million won in support. Busan Credit Guarantee Foundation will subsidize 1% of the interest difference.

Mayor Park Hyungjoon stated, “This agreement will help reduce the delivery cost burden for small business owners and will greatly contribute to the recovery of the local economy,” adding, “We will actively promote the expansion of the public delivery app so that tangible benefits can be felt by both citizens and small business owners.”
