A Chinese man has been apprehended by police for murdering a woman he was living with at his residence in Garibong-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul.
On July 31, the Seoul Guro Police Station announced that they had arrested a man in his 60s, identified as A, on charges of murder and are currently investigating him.
According to the police, at approximately 3:17 a.m. on the same day, A is suspected of killing a woman in her 50s, with whom he was cohabiting, using a weapon at their residence in Garibong-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul.
The victim was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but ultimately died.
It was previously reported that the victim had called the police twice regarding A. In June 2023, after being assaulted by A, she reported that her leg had been fractured. On July 26, she made another report, stating that "someone is harassing me."
The police plan to investigate the circumstances of A's crime, including whether he was intoxicated, and will apply for an arrest warrant after their inquiry.
