Gwangju City has introduced a new paradigm for urban summer vacations in celebration of the '2025 Visit Gwangju Year.' The city has prepared a variety of programs that allow residents and visitors to enjoy rich culture and art without having to travel far.


This summer, Gwangju has transformed into a unique vacation space where books, nature, and art harmoniously come together. It is expected to offer family visitors a distinctive urban summer retreat.


The 'Scent of Humanities' library is captivating visitors with its unique programs. The Dong-gu Public Library Book Garden is gaining attention as a healing space in nature, featuring distinctive architectural beauty and a pleasant environment. The National Asia Culture Center Library has become a city-center haven with its nighttime opening hours and diverse humanities programs.

Camping sites such as Citizens' Forest Campground, Family Land Caravan Campground, and Seungchonbo Campground are popular urban camping destinations that are easily accessible from the city. These sites are highly popular as they allow visitors to enjoy both barbecues and nature experiences.


The National Gwangju Science Museum, National Gwangju Museum, and Gwangju Museum of Art are offering a wide range of hands-on programs for children. In particular, the 'Special Exhibition on Brain Science' at the National Gwangju Science Museum and the 'Dream Job Playground' program at the National Asia Culture Center are drawing significant attention.


Various cultural events such as the Bitgoeul Handmade Fair, Gwangju ACE Fair, X Music Festival, and Gwangju Design Biennale are scheduled to take place, promising visitors unforgettable experiences.

The '2025 Gwangju ACE Fair,' which encompasses content industries including new media and animation, will be held from August 28 to 31 at the Kimdaejung Convention Center. The 'X Music Festival,' where visitors can experience world music such as Korean traditional music, jazz, and other traditional genres, will take place from August 29 to 31 at the National Asia Culture Center. In addition, the '2025 Gwangju Design Biennale' will open on August 30 at the Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall.
