Calls for Active Participation and Cooperation from Member Countries at Meeting
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that Vice Minister Noh Yongseok held a meeting with officials from embassies in Korea at the Government Complex Seoul on July 31. This meeting was organized to explain the overall plans for the 'APEC SME Ministerial Meeting' to be held in Jeju in September, and to request active participation and cooperation from the governments of each country for a successful event.
On this day, Vice Minister Noh stated, "The APEC SME Ministerial Meeting is a meaningful event as it is being held in Korea again for the first time in 20 years, and it is a very significant occasion to discuss the present and future of SMEs both domestically and internationally." He emphasized, "Solidarity and policy exchanges among APEC member economies are more important now than ever." He also added, "SMEs are key players driving sustainable growth and innovation in the global economy," and expressed hope that "this meeting will serve as a foundation for practical cooperation among APEC member economies."

The APEC SME Ministerial Meeting will be held under the theme 'SMEs as Drivers of Sustainable and Inclusive Growth.' The main agenda includes: ▲ innovation cases of companies utilizing AI and other technologies ▲ policy efforts by each country to respond to issues such as population decline and climate change ▲ cooperation between large and small enterprises and public-private partnerships for inclusive growth.
In addition to the official schedule, which includes the ministerial meeting and working group meetings, the APEC SME Ministerial Meeting will also feature 10 various side events such as ▲ Challenge! K-Startup ▲ Global Venture Investment Summit.
Vice Minister Noh said, "I expect that this meeting will accelerate cooperation with member economies," and added, "We will continue to communicate through further meetings with APEC member economies from other regions and embassy visits in the future."
