Financial Supervisory Service Launches Campaign to Prevent Voice Phishing and Virtual Asset Scams

Focused Campaign to Prevent Everyday Financial Crimes During Vacation Season

Financial Supervisory Service Launches Campaign to Prevent Voice Phishing and Virtual Asset Scams

The Financial Supervisory Service announced on July 31 that it will launch a focused campaign during the summer vacation season to prevent financial crimes affecting everyday life, such as illegal private lending, voice phishing, and virtual asset investment scams.

The campaign will be conducted on-site throughout August, when the movement and visits of summer vacationers peak, at major tourist destinations, airports, KTX stations, and bus terminals.

From August 1 to August 3, a promotional booth for voice phishing prevention will be set up at the Busan Sea Festival held at Dadaepo Beach. The booth will feature O/X quizzes related to voice phishing, hands-on events allowing participants to experience real-life cases, and promotional activities on Instagram.

At public transportation facilities such as airports, KTX stations, and bus terminals, the campaign will use promotional videos and slogans to raise awareness about the latest crime methods, including voice phishing schemes involving fake card deliveries and romance scam virtual asset investment fraud.
