On July 31, Samsung Electronics announced that its Device Solutions (DS) division recorded sales of 27.9 trillion won and an operating profit of 400 billion won in the second quarter of this year. While sales increased compared to the previous quarter, operating profit has declined for four consecutive quarters.
The Memory Business Division plans to actively respond to strong demand for artificial intelligence (AI) server products, such as high-bandwidth memory (HBM), in the second half of this year. The System LSI Business Division aims to strengthen the competitiveness of its in-house mobile chipset, Exynos, with the goal of equipping it in the Galaxy S26 next year. The Foundry Business Division, which recently announced an order from Tesla, will seek to improve profitability by ramping up mass production of new mobile products using the advanced 2-nanometer gate-all-around (GAA) process.
