Certified as a Specialist in Designing and Operating Generative AI on Microsoft Azure
Recognized for Technical Capability to Implement AI on Cloud Platforms
LG CNS has received certification as a generative artificial intelligence (AI) specialist company from Microsoft (MS), making it the only domestic company to have obtained AI technology competency certifications from all three major global cloud services?Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and MS. This means that LG CNS has been officially recognized for its ability to design and implement the AI technologies provided by each cloud provider in ways that are tailored to actual customer environments.
On July 31, LG CNS announced that it had acquired the "Build AI Apps on Microsoft Azure Specialization" certification from MS. This certification is granted to partners who can professionally design and build AI services on Azure, Microsoft’s cloud platform. It requires not only proficiency in handling cloud infrastructure, but also proven expertise across the entire process of introducing and implementing generative AI on Azure. Each cloud provider directly participates in the verification process, which also includes a third-party audit.
An LG CNS representative explained, "Cloud companies such as MS, AWS, and Google Cloud do not simply provide infrastructure?they each offer their own AI technologies as well. This certification is the result of being evaluated on how professionally and effectively we can utilize each cloud provider’s AI technology to build services." LG CNS previously obtained related certifications from Google Cloud and AWS last year.
To receive this certification, it is necessary to pass multiple criteria, including not only technical capabilities but also project case studies demonstrating tangible results for actual clients, securing AI expert personnel, and technical competency evaluations. LG CNS was recognized for its qualifications by conducting numerous AI projects using Azure in the manufacturing, finance, and public sectors.
LG CNS is also operating AI workshops ("Innovation Journey Workshop") for enterprise clients in collaboration with MS. This program helps companies considering AI adoption to try applying it to their actual business operations. At the "Microsoft AI Tour in Seoul" held in March, LG CNS participated as a premier partner and introduced industry-specific AI use cases.
A dedicated collaboration organization with MS is also in operation. Application modernization experts and cloud architects are deployed to provide customized AI and cloud services for enterprises. Advanced services are created by training AI models on vast internal data (fine-tuning), applying search functions (RAG) to extract necessary information, and designing prompt engineering to help AI respond more accurately to questions.
In practice, LG CNS built an Azure-based AI search service for the design operations of a manufacturing company. When employees ask questions or report issues in a chat window, the AI analyzes hundreds of pages of manuals, past similar cases, and veteran engineers’ know-how to provide the optimal answer. In this way, the AI serves as a work colleague.
Previously, LG CNS had also received generative AI specialist certifications from AWS and Google Cloud. Going forward, the company plans to provide customized AI services by appropriately combining not only external models but also models such as "EXAONE" from LG AI Research and those co-developed with global AI company Cohere, depending on the situation.
