According to Gapyeong County, the Logistics Support Battalion under the Capital Mechanized Infantry Division provided three large washing machines on July 30 to assist flood victims with laundry services.

This initiative was implemented in consideration of households whose clothing and bedding were soaked in muddy water due to flooding, making individual washing difficult. On this day, the military deployed two mobile large-capacity laundry trailers at the Administrative Welfare Center in Jojong-myeon, and also utilized one fixed washing machine within the unit to support laundry for flood victims.

With the use of these three washing machines, it is possible to wash over 300 pieces of clothing per day, which is expected to be a great help to the flood victims. The military stated that even if the daily laundry volume is exceeded, they will continue to provide additional laundry support, and that any flood victim may apply for the service.

Seo Taewon, the head of Gapyeong County, said, "Since the heavy rainfall damage in Gapyeong County, the Capital Mechanized Infantry Division has been deploying soldiers to the flood sites every day to assist with recovery efforts. With the addition of this laundry support, they are providing significant practical help for daily life restoration, and the residents of Gapyeong County are expressing their deep gratitude."

An official from the division stated, "As a reliable neighbor in Gapyeong, the Maengho Unit wants to stand with the residents at the forefront of flood recovery. We will continue to provide frontline support until the daily lives of Gapyeong residents are fully restored."
