KB Kookmin Bank announced on July 30 that it has obtained a patent for a full-banking service system utilizing video consultations, marking the first such achievement in the financial sector.
The patent covers the technology applied to the 'KB Mobile Video Consultation Service', which enables customers to consult with experts in real time and subscribe to financial products using their smartphones or computers. This system was recognized for its technological excellence by implementing a multi-channel process that goes beyond simple phone consultations to encompass both wired and video consultations.
Since January 2022, customers have conducted approximately 250,000 consultations and subscribed to over 70,000 financial products using the KB Mobile Video Consultation Service, conveniently accessing financial services remotely.
Customers can make consultation appointments 24 hours a day without visiting a branch, and during banking business hours, they can be connected to qualified staff for financial product sales, allowing the entire process from consultation to product subscription to be completed remotely in one step. This service is available through the KB Star Banking app and internet banking.
A KB Kookmin Bank representative stated, "As customer demand for remote consultations continues to grow, we have strived to provide an environment where professional consultations and convenient financial product subscriptions are available anytime, anywhere," and added, "We will continue to drive financial innovation using digital technology and expand safe, customer-centric remote financial services."
