On July 30, Yeongcheon City held a '3rd Anniversary Progress Report Meeting for the 8th Popularly Elected Administration's Pledge Projects' in the city hall video conference room, attended by Mayor Choi Kimoon and more than 20 heads of departments responsible for pledge projects.
This meeting was organized to review the achievements of the pledge projects over the past three years since the start of the 8th popularly elected administration and to enhance both the completeness of the pledge projects and the sense of satisfaction among citizens during the remaining term.
As of the end of June, the achievement rate for the 8th popularly elected administration's pledge projects stands at 72.5%. Out of 34 pledge projects, 23 have been completed, 10 are proceeding as planned, and 1 is partially underway.
By sector, the achievement rates are as follows: Vibrant Economic City, 69.2%; Prosperous Rural Community, 77.5%; Equal Welfare and Education, 79.7%; and Distinguished Culture and Tourism, 51.7%.
In particular, this year, several major pledge projects that have a high level of citizen impact are expected to be completed, including the construction of a community-focused National Sports Center, the development of the Yeongcheon High-Tech Park District, the establishment of a public parking lot for cargo trucks, and the construction of the Garlic Convergence Center.
Through these initiatives, balanced regional development, strengthened industrial competitiveness, and the expansion of living infrastructure are expected to accelerate in earnest.
Going forward, the city plans to conduct evaluations and reviews of the pledge projects through meetings of the 8th popularly elected administration's Pledge Implementation Evaluation Committee, and to provide manifesto implementation training for those in charge of pledge projects, thereby focusing all efforts on the efficient execution and management of the pledge projects.
Mayor Choi Kimoon stated, "Now that we have entered the latter half of the 8th popularly elected administration, it is time to share our achievements with the citizens and prepare for another leap forward during the remaining term." He added, "We will ensure the seamless completion of the major projects scheduled for this year so that they become new driving forces for regional development, and we will deliver tangible results that citizens can truly feel."
