Gurye County in South Jeolla Province is making every effort to revitalize the local economy by distributing the first round of consumer coupons aimed at supporting the recovery of livelihoods.
The county announced on July 30 that it is carrying out daily village broadcasts and promoting the program through mobile phone call connection tones to encourage prompt applications for the consumer coupons, demonstrating proactive administrative measures.

In particular, the Department of Resident Welfare and the Public Health Center are operating a "visiting application service" specifically for residents of nursing facilities and hospitals, ensuring thorough support for groups with limited access.
Additionally, taking into account the region's high proportion of residents aged 65 and older and concerns about health risks due to extreme heat, the county has been running a "concentrated on-site application period" for two days starting July 29. Accordingly, 264 officials from the county office and townships are visiting village halls and senior centers in person to accept applications, receiving a strong positive response from residents.
County Governor Kim Soonho stated, "We implemented the village visit service in consideration of the high proportion of elderly residents," and added, "We expect the distribution rate to exceed 90% by the end of July."
