Adoption of Hearing Report Through Bipartisan Agreement
On July 30, the National Assembly adopted the personnel hearing report for Kim Yoonduk, the nominee for Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, through bipartisan agreement.
The Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee of the National Assembly held a plenary meeting that day and passed the agenda to adopt the hearing report for nominee Kim.
Maeng Sungkyu, the chair of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee and a member of the Democratic Party, stated, "Based on his extensive experience in political activities and policy expertise, there are expectations for proactive policy implementation. He is also considered a suitable candidate for actively promoting balanced regional development due to his high understanding of local issues. However, there were also opposing opinions, citing insufficient submission of materials, inadequate explanations, and a lack of demonstrated expertise in matters under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Both the favorable and unfavorable opinions were reflected."
Kim Yoonduk is a three-term lawmaker who served on the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee during the 19th and 21st National Assembly sessions. He is also regarded as a key member of the pro-Lee Jaemyung faction.
