Job-Seeking Incentive of 1.5 Million KRW and Living Stability Support of 400,000 KRW
National Funding Secured through Ministry of Employment Selection...
Implemented by Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry
This initiative is being promoted after South Jeolla Province secured national funding by being selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor's "Regional Employment Slowdown Response Support Project." The Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry will participate as the implementing agency.
The support funds will be provided through two separate programs: the "Crisis Worker New Start Hope Support Project" and the "Worker Relief Package Support Project."
The "Crisis Worker New Start Hope Support Project" will provide a job-seeking incentive of 1.5 million KRW to those who have worked in the petrochemical industry or related companies in Yeosu within the past two years and have become unemployed, or to daily workers whose total number of working days was less than 30 between March and May of this year. A total of 2,800 individuals will be supported on a first-come, first-served basis.
The "Worker Relief Package Support Project" will provide 400,000 KRW to currently employed workers in the petrochemical industry and related companies in Yeosu to help with psychological stability and to alleviate the burden of living expenses. The funds can be used for social insurance premiums, health check-up costs, cultural and sports activities, housing expenses, and communication fees. A total of 1,780 individuals will be supported on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications will be accepted in person at the first floor of the Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry starting August 1. Further details can be found on the Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry's website.
A city official stated, "We hope that this support program will provide real help to unemployed individuals and workers who are struggling due to the prolonged recession in the petrochemical industry," and added, "We will actively support this initiative to contribute to employment stability and to boost workers' motivation."
