Yangju City announced on the 30th that, on the 29th, it conducted a "Joint Campaign for Resident Action Guidelines During High Ozone Concentration Periods" at Yangju Station in cooperation with Gyeonggi Province.

This campaign, organized by Gyeonggi Province with the participation of Yangju City, was prepared to raise citizens' awareness of the dangers of high ozone concentrations, which frequently occur during the hot and humid summer, and to prevent health damage.

Twelve public officials from Gyeonggi Province and Yangju City took part in the campaign, providing information on the causes of ozone formation, the necessity of response measures, and action guidelines. They also distributed promotional materials (parasols) containing related information to citizens and actively promoted the campaign.

The ozone response action guidelines provided to citizens included: ▲ frequently checking ozone advisories and warnings ▲ refraining from outdoor activities and strenuous exercise ▲ minimizing outdoor classes at daycare centers, kindergartens, and schools ▲ reducing the use of private vehicles and using public transportation ▲ avoiding refueling during daytime hours ▲ and refraining from using volatile chemicals such as paint and spray products.

A Yangju City official stated, "We hope this campaign will help citizens recognize the dangers of ozone and encourage them to take action on their own," and added, "We will continue to do our best to protect citizens' health in the future."
