Largest Youth Invention Event, '2025 Youth Invention Festival,' Kicks Off on the 31st

At the 38th Student Invention Exhibition, a total of 6,843 works were submitted, and the "2025 Youth Invention Festival" will be held from July 31 to August 2 at Exhibition Hall 2 of the Daejeon Convention Center.


This year's festival is subtitled "My Own Light, Illuminating the World," and will feature a variety of programs aimed at sharing creative invention ideas among youth and fostering an inventive mindset.


On the opening day, the festival will begin with an opening ceremony, followed by the 38th Korea Student Invention Exhibition, the finals and awards ceremony of the 2025 Korea Student Creativity Championship, and creative invention experience booths.


Among the submitted works, 195 pieces were selected as award winners. The Presidential Award was given to Song Chiwan, a second-year student at Daejeon Daeshin High School, for submitting the "Non-powered Ventilator with Improved Ventilation Performance and Induced Constant Operation Structure."


The Prime Minister's Award was given to Kwon Juwon, a first-year student at Geulggoch Middle School, for submitting the "Samok Game Device with Automatic Sorting Function," and to Jang Yunjin, a sixth-year student at Geoje Sangdong Elementary School, for submitting the "Rotating Head Pack that Can Be Easily Driven and Removed by Turning."


Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "I hope many citizens will join this festival, where they can directly see and support the innovative ideas of youth who will lead the future," and added, "We will actively support this event so that the festival held in Daejeon, the science capital of Korea, can be successfully completed."
