Lectures by Notable Figures Including Hyunjoon Yoo, Minji Kim, and Kyungduk Seo
Kyobo Book Centre has unveiled its lineup of guest speaker lectures for August. A wide range of experts from various fields, including architect Hyunjoon Yoo, humanities scholar Kyungduk Seo, and psychologist Kyungil Kim, will be participating.
This round of lectures is organized around Kyobo Book Centre’s flagship author lecture series, including 'Big10 Master Lectures,' 'Bora Show,' and 'Bora Talk.' The topics span a variety of fields such as architecture, psychology, history, AI, health, and essays, offering a wide range of content that is likely to interest people of all ages.
Professor Hyunjoon Yoo, as part of the 'Big10 Master Lectures' series, will give a talk tailored to children based on his book "Hyunjoon Yoo’s Grand Architectural Adventure 1: Egypt - The Great Pyramid Escape!" He will emphasize the importance of integrative thinking through architecture, presented at a level accessible to young audiences. August 3, 2:00 PM.
Author Minji Kim, who resonated with many readers through her essay "I’m Doing Fine Even If I Don’t Shine," will take the stage at 'Bora Show.' Through the message "It’s Okay Not to Shine," she will share insights on how to live as oneself in an era of comparison and anxiety. August 9, 2:00 PM.
Literary critic Professor Minae Na will introduce lines from poetry that help heal the heart. Through "Even If I Engrave Just One Line in My Heart," she will discuss the intersection of poetry, daily life, and emotions, offering a space to share the healing power of literature. August 12, 7:30 PM.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation, Professor Kyungduk Seo will lead a Bora Talk lecture on the theme "Korean History We Must Protect." This lecture aims to raise historical awareness and deliver a timely message about the importance of preserving cultural heritage. August 14, 7:30 PM.
The final lecture of August will feature psychologist Professor Kyungil Kim and curator-author Hanwook Ryu together on the 'Bora Show' stage. Based on "Appropriate Frustration," they will discuss psychological immaturity and resilience in modern life. August 30, 2:00 PM.
