Survey Open Until August 15
Anticipation Grows for Transfer Announcements Reflecting Busan’s Unique Sentiment
Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) will conduct a public survey from July 28 to August 15 to select new background music and an exclusive voice actor for transfer stations.
Since 2009, the corporation has introduced fusion Korean traditional music as background music for transfer stations, receiving positive responses. In 2012, it switched to compositions by Vinylogue, which have been used up to the present.
This survey aims to select new background music and a new voice actor, while also evaluating overall satisfaction with station announcements to inform future improvements.
The candidates for new transfer station background music are three pieces: "Heat of Gwangalli," which lively expresses the youth and energy of Gwangalli; "Dongnaeseong Exploration," which captures the tranquil scenery of Dongnaeseong and the spirit of ancestors; and "Wind of the Sea," which conveys the refreshing breeze of the Busan sea. All three pieces are original works by Lee Jungho, a professor at Pusan National University’s Department of Korean Music and winner of the 2023 Korea Composer Awards.
The three candidates for exclusive voice actor were selected from 18 applicants through internal evaluation, considering pronunciation, delivery, and suitability of image. To ensure fairness, only their voices will be provided and personal information will remain confidential.
Anyone can participate in the survey via the Busan Transportation Corporation website or by scanning the QR code on the information notice.
President Lee Byungjin stated, "The transfer music and announcements chosen directly by citizens will capture the unique sentiment of Busan," and added, "We will strive to ensure that the Busan Metro becomes a space for citizens that embraces the region’s history and culture."
