GS25 Launches 'AI Personal Color Analysis'... Establishes Itself as a One-Stop Beauty Platform

Product Recommendations for In-Store Purchase Based on Analysis Results

GS25, the convenience store operated by GS Retail, announced on the 30th that it is introducing an 'AI beauty device' to offer a one-stop beauty service, enabling everything from personal color analysis to cosmetics purchase.

GS25 has planned this experiential service, which allows customers to experience, diagnose, and purchase in one go, in response to the high interest in beauty content among the MZ generation (Millennials and Generation Z). In addition to the beauty device, exclusive cosmetics displays such as 'Musinsa Wichi' and 'Sonandpark Hati' have been installed, allowing customers not only to experience but also to immediately purchase products on site.


The service will first be launched at the 'GS25 New Annyeong Insadong Branch' and will also be available at the Gangnam Dongwon Branch in September. GS25 plans to expand the service to 10 stores by the end of the year. Through this one-stop beauty service, GS25 aims to attract new customers and simultaneously boost sales in the beauty category.


The main functions of the newly introduced AI beauty device at GS25 include: ▲personal color analysis, ▲facial proportion analysis, and ▲makeup and styling recommendations. When a customer shows their face on the screen, the QHD 5-megapixel ultra-high-definition camera precisely scans the skin, eyes, and lips in about three seconds. It then comprehensively analyzes skin brightness, saturation, and color temperature to determine each individual's personal color, and recommends suitable color cosmetics such as blushers and lipsticks. The recommended products consist of a total of 14 GS25 exclusive brands, including 'Musinsa Wichi' and 'Sonandpark Hati', which can be purchased immediately after the analysis in the store.


Additionally, the AI beauty device provides detailed facial analysis results, including eye shape, lip thickness, nose width, and upper, middle, and lower face proportions. Based on this analysis, it also suggests makeup, hair, and jewelry styles. All analysis results can be downloaded to a mobile phone in the form of an online report via QR code.


To celebrate the launch of the new service, GS25 will offer free trial opportunities throughout August. After that, the usage fee will be 2,000 won.


Song Junghwan, manager of the Service Product Team at GS Retail, stated, "'The AI beauty device' is an experiential service designed to reflect the preferences and needs of the MZ generation, aiming to provide a one-stop service from beauty diagnosis to product purchase," and added, "We will continue to strengthen the competitiveness of our service products so that convenience stores can evolve into lifestyle platforms that offer diverse content beyond simple product purchases."
