Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, spent a meaningful time with baseball fans as the ceremonial first pitcher at the 2025 KBO Futures League game between the Goyang Heroes and SSG Landers held at Gocheok Sky Dome on July 29.

This ceremonial first pitch was a special event prepared as part of the Goyang Heroes' regular season schedule. Mayor Lee Donghwan, after a preliminary meeting and wearing the team uniform, threw the ceremonial first pitch just before the game began, receiving enthusiastic cheers from the fans in attendance.

Mayor Lee stated, "It is very meaningful for me to throw the ceremonial first pitch for the Goyang Heroes here at Gocheok Baseball Stadium today," and added, "I hope both teams will deliver an exciting game, and I especially wish for the success of the Goyang Heroes."

After the event, he took commemorative photos with officials from the Heroes club and further strengthened the cooperative relationship between Goyang City and the club through conversations with team representatives.

The city plans to continue leading the way in promoting baseball culture and fostering communication among citizens through sports, in cooperation with the Goyang Heroes.
