Emphasis on Solidarity to Resolve Regional Issues

This meeting was a meaningful occasion where the chairs of councils from 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province gathered to seek ways to cooperate for the advancement of local autonomy and to resolve regional issues, as well as to deliberate and decide on major agenda items.
The main agenda items for deliberation and resolution included: ▲ Adoption of a proposal urging the enactment of legislation for residents' autonomy councils ▲ Adoption of a proposal for restructuring the cost-sharing system of the Gyeonggi Province city bus public management system ▲ Decision on the date for the 2025 Gyeonggi Province City and County Council Members' Unity Sports Festival ▲ Approval of the minutes from the 177th regular meeting ▲ Decision on the location for the next (179th) regular meeting.
In particular, the agenda items urging the enactment of legislation related to residents' autonomy councils and improving the cost-sharing structure of the city bus public management system were closely related to local realities. The participants shared the situations of their respective regions and engaged in in-depth discussions on possible improvements.
After the regular meeting, participants toured the Hoeamsa Temple Site Museum and the Hoeamsa Temple Site in Yangju City, taking time to explore local cultural heritage and tourism resources.
Hwang Sunho stated, "This regular meeting was a meaningful opportunity for city and county councils in Gyeonggi Province to unite their voices and seek practical solutions for the advancement of local autonomy," and added, "I will continue to work toward resolving Yangpyeong County's issues and promoting regional development through solidarity with other cities and counties."
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Province City and County Council Chairs' Association is an organization that promotes the development of local autonomy based on exchange and cooperation among the 31 city and county councils in Gyeonggi Province. Through regular meetings, it coordinates positions on shared issues and submits proposals to the central government and related agencies.
