The South Chungcheong Provincial Council has issued a 'suitable' opinion regarding Lee Kijin, the candidate for CEO of the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation.

The Special Committee for Personnel Hearings on the CEO Candidate of the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation, chaired by Park Kiyoung, held a personnel hearing on the 28th. After thoroughly reviewing Lee Kijin's qualifications, ethics, and expertise from multiple perspectives, the committee reached this conclusion.

Born in 1963, Lee Kijin worked for 31 years at the Dong-A Ilbo, serving as a specialist reporter in the culture and tourism sector, covering tourism, festivals, and food.

Since 2023, he has served as the Head of the Tourism Industry Division at the Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation, leading initiatives such as the 'Year of Visiting Chungnam' and the development of tourism products.

During the hearing, various issues were discussed, including: ▲ balancing tourism and culture ▲ expanding cultural enjoyment rights for residents ▲ cooperation with city and county foundations ▲ transparency of the foundation's finances ▲ and promoting Chungnam's local food as tourism attractions.

Lee Kijin stated, "I will ensure the success of the Year of Visiting Chungnam and make Chungnam a destination that attracts many tourists." He added, "I will become a hands-on leader and pursue a 'proactive tourism' strategy, rather than waiting for tourists to come."

Chairman Park Kiyoung said, "It is important to accurately understand what tourists visiting Chungnam want," and added, "Lee Kijin's field experience and policy planning skills will be a great asset."

The special committee concluded the hearing procedures on this day, adopting a progress report with a 'suitable' opinion, stating that Lee Kijin is the right person who can fully fulfill the roles and responsibilities of CEO.
