Hampyeong County in South Jeolla Province announced on July 27 that it will offer various discounts to tourists during the peak summer vacation season, including the 'Blue Workation' and 'Double the Fun in Hampyeong' programs.
The Blue Workation program, implemented in cooperation with South Jeolla Province and the Jeonnam Tourism Foundation, targets company employees, self-employed individuals, and freelancers. It provides a space near Dolmeori Beach, Hampyeong's representative tourist destination, where participants can enjoy both vacation and work at the same time. Participants will receive subsidies ranging from 200,000 to 600,000 won, as well as access to various marine healing and wellness programs such as mudflat experiences and sea salt steam baths.
The county is also running the 'Double the Fun in Hampyeong' program in partnership with Korail. Tourists who visit Hampyeong using Korail's 'Local Love Train Tour' package will receive a discount coupon worth 50% of the fare and an additional coupon worth 20,000 won for use at the online mall 'Hampyeongcheonji Mall.'
Accommodation discounts are also available. Travelers who book lodging through the Jeonnam Tourism Platform (JNTOUR) can receive a discount of up to 40,000 won per night. The county aims to attract more stay-type tourists during the summer and invigorate the local tourism industry through these support measures.
County Governor Lee Sangik said, "I hope visitors will have a special summer in Hampyeong, enjoying the beautiful nature and various experience programs," adding, "We will continue to develop and support new content to promote stay-type tourism."
