Regarding Choi Dongseok's Comment That "Kim Moonsoo Supporters Are Foolish":
"He Deserves to Be Removed from Office"

Kim Moonsoo, former Minister of Employment and Labor and a candidate in the People Power Party leadership election, dismissed the demand from his rival, lawmaker Ahn Cheolsoo, to clarify his stance regarding his candidacy.

Speaking to reporters at the People Power Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on this day, Kim said, "I believe that our party members will be the ones to decide my future."

Earlier, Ahn Cheolsoo, who is also running for party leadership, held a press conference and urged, "Kim Moonsoo, who caused extreme division and confusion within the party by reversing the unification agreement and effectively handed over the presidency to Lee Jaemyung, should make his own decision regarding his position."

Regarding the remark by Choi Dongseok, head of the Ministry of Personnel Management, that "Kim Moonsoo supporters are foolish," Kim criticized, "If a politician calls 41% of the people foolish, isn't that the kind of thinking from the era of emperors?" He added, "A public official who destroys democracy in this way deserves to be removed from office."

Choi Dongseok appeared on a pro-government YouTube channel five days after the June 3 presidential election and commented, "Isn't it true that 40% of our country supported Kim Moonsoo? That happened because they became foolish."
