Uijeongbu City Successfully Concludes the 4th Songsan 3-dong Residents' General Meeting
Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) announced on July 28 that the Songsan 3-dong Residents' Association (Chairman Kim Seoksu) successfully held the '4th Songsan 3-dong Residents' General Meeting' on July 25.

The event, held at the multipurpose auditorium of the Songsan 3-dong Public Complex Building, was attended by over 150 people, including local residents, the mayor, a member of the National Assembly, and city council members.
The program began with a video presentation on the activities of the Residents' Association, followed by a resident performance, an operational report from the Residents' Association, an introduction of the 2026 autonomy plan, and then the residents' vote and announcement of the results.
In particular, a performance in which a large "wish airplane" was handed over to the guests and its contents shared, symbolizing the hope that all residents' wishes would come true, drew much attention. In addition, a line dance performance by Residents' Center class participants and a bridge dance performance by local youth further enlivened the atmosphere at the venue.
The vote, which combined early voting held from July 1 to July 20 and voting on the day of the event (with a total of 679 participants), resulted in three autonomy plan projects?Songsan 3 Together Festival, Senior Citizens' Health Healing, and Children's Market Drawing Contest?being approved by a majority of the residents.
The Residents' Association plans to implement one or two of the approved autonomy plan projects as the main projects for 2026, according to the order of votes received.
Chairman Kim Seoksu said, "I would like to thank the residents of Songsan 3-dong for sharing their opinions on the autonomy plan and participating in the vote," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that the autonomy plan, decided by your interest and participation, is carried out without any setbacks."
Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "I am grateful to all the residents who have worked hard to create a communicative and harmonious Songsan 3-dong. The Residents' General Meeting is the centerpiece of resident autonomy, where residents themselves decide on the autonomy plans needed for our community," and added, "We will continue to actively support the realization of true resident autonomy in the future."
