On July 28, SK Eturnix announced that it has published its Sustainability Management Report, which details its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) achievements and future strategies for the year 2024.
This report is the first sustainability management report issued by SK Eturnix since its launch following a spin-off from SK D&D in March of last year. The company explained that the report was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and that its reliability and fairness were ensured through third-party verification. In terms of format, the report was published based on the company website to minimize resource usage and to communicate transparently, in line with the spirit of ESG practices.
SK Eturnix presented its ESG vision slogan as "GOOD ENERGY FOR A BETTER FUTURE," expressing its commitment to building a sustainable energy ecosystem.
Additionally, by introducing a "double materiality assessment," which comprehensively evaluates environmental and social impacts as well as financial issues, the company identified three key ESG issues: ▲expansion of green energy solutions and achievement of Net Zero ▲enhancement of happiness for employees and stakeholders ▲establishment of an ESG governance system.
According to the report, SK Eturnix systematically manages its environmental practices by applying the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) certification to its major business sites.
Through a business model centered on renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power, as well as fuel cells, the company is contributing to the transition to clean energy and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, it operates an integrated management system for various environmental factors at each business site, including waste, water resources, and biodiversity.
In the social sector, the report mainly addresses the safety and well-being of local communities and employees. The company has carried out various activities for mutual growth with local communities, such as donating daily necessities kits, conducting blood drives, and participating in ecological protection initiatives. At the same time, it has established advanced safety systems based on safety and health management system certifications at all business sites.
In the governance sector, the report states that SK Eturnix transparently manages major business issues and sustainability management strategies through a board-centered management structure. The company also proactively manages risks through fair trade and ethical management, and has strengthened its management principles based on compliance and ethics.
Kim Haejoong, CEO of SK Eturnix, said, "SK Eturnix has built integrated capabilities across the entire value chain, from development, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), to operation and electricity trading, in the rapidly changing energy market environment. Based on these capabilities, we have achieved sustainable growth," adding, "Going forward, we will continue to make the expansion of the eco-friendly energy ecosystem and mutual growth with local communities our core values, and will take the lead in creating an ecosystem where technology, people, and society are harmoniously integrated."
As a renewable energy business operator, SK Eturnix possesses a diverse portfolio including solar power, wind power, energy storage systems (ESS), and fuel cells, and is strengthening its position as a comprehensive eco-friendly energy platform company through the expansion of its electricity brokerage business.
