NongHyup Financial Group Provides Air Conditioners and Support for Disaster Recovery

On July 24, NongHyup Financial Group announced its decision to donate air conditioners worth 30 million won to Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province, which was recently designated as a special disaster area due to heavy rainfall.

The air conditioners will be supplied to community centers, evacuation shelters, and other locations. NongHyup Financial Group plans to strengthen its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management in response to increasingly severe climate disasters, and will provide multifaceted and practical support not only to agriculture and rural communities but also to local communities across the country in the event of disasters.

Lee Chanwoo, Chairman of NongHyup Financial Group, expressed his deep sympathy for the difficulties faced by agriculture and rural communities due to the heatwave and heavy rainfall. He stated, "NongHyup Financial Group will spare no effort in providing both financial and material support to ensure the swift recovery of daily life for farmers and local communities."

NongHyup Financial Group executives, including the chairman and the executive vice president of strategic planning, are visiting areas affected by heavy rain, such as Gyeongnam and Chungnam, to assist with recovery efforts. These efforts include helping with restoration work, providing supplies (such as relief goods), and offering financial support, in order to minimize damage. NongHyup Bank is operating cooling centers, and NH Investment & Securities is supporting rural communities by providing refrigerators as part of its community support initiatives, among other diverse support activities.
