KITA Donates 500 Million Won for Recovery from Torrential Rain Damage

The Korea International Trade Association announced on July 28 that it had donated 500 million won in relief funds to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to support the recovery of areas affected by the torrential rains that swept across the country and to assist displaced residents.

The donated funds are expected to be used for emergency relief activities, including recovery work at sites damaged by the heavy rains, temporary housing support for displaced residents, and the provision of relief supplies.

Previously, the association has continuously engaged in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities by providing relief funds whenever major disasters occurred, such as the wildfires in the Yeongnam region earlier this year, the torrential rains in 2022 and 2023, and the wildfires in the Gangwon region in 2019.

Yoon Jinshik, Chairman of the association, said, "I would like to express my deepest sympathy to those affected by the record-breaking torrential rains," adding, "I hope that this donation will, even in a small way, help the affected areas recover quickly and support displaced residents in returning to their daily lives."
