Any youth of Korean nationality who is the child or grandchild of a Kia vehicle owner (including purchase, long-term rental, lease, or used car), has no restrictions on overseas travel, and is between the ages of 12 and 15 as of January 1, 2026 (born between January 2, 2010 and January 1, 2014), is eligible to apply.

Applications can be submitted through the official Kia Ball Kids website until August 27. The selection process includes an English proficiency assessment to evaluate communication skills required for the role, as well as tests on tennis rules and athletic ability. A total of 20 finalists will be selected.

The selected ball kids will participate in the "2026 Australian Open" held in Melbourne, Australia in January 2026. They will have the opportunity to experience matches featuring world-class tennis players and engage in local Australian culture over a two-week schedule.

Kia is the longest-standing sponsor of the Australian Open, one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, and has continued its sponsorship for 24 years since 2002.

A Kia representative stated, "The Kia Ball Kids program aims to provide valuable global experiences to youth who love tennis," and added, "We hope many will show interest and participate in this meaningful opportunity to become part of the Australian Open ball kids."
