Hyundai Motor Company launched the dedicated electric vehicle "The New Ioniq 6" (hereinafter referred to as Ioniq 6) on July 28, which boasts the longest single-charge driving range among domestic electric vehicles. The Ioniq 6, released by Hyundai on this day, is a partially revamped model being introduced for the first time in over three years since its initial launch in September 2022.
The Ioniq 6 features enhanced battery performance, allowing it to travel up to 562 kilometers on a single charge (based on the Long Range 2WD model with 18-inch tires). The battery capacity has increased from the previous 77.4kWh to 84kWh, and it maintains the same charging performance as before, reaching 10% to 80% charge in 18 minutes when using a 350kW ultra-fast charger. In addition, thanks to its aerodynamic design, it maintains a drag coefficient of 0.21, which is the best among Hyundai Motor Group vehicles.
It is also equipped with a variety of convenience features. Hyundai has introduced, for the first time, the "Climate Control Occupant Detection" system, which automatically operates the climate system by detecting whether occupants are present, and the "Smooth Mode," which minimizes motion sickness by providing gentle acceleration and deceleration. The "Smart Regenerative System 3.0," which automatically sets the optimal level of regenerative braking according to driving conditions, has also been applied. Additionally, the area of sound-absorbing and insulating materials around the rear motor has been expanded, and optimized sound-absorbing tires have been used to create a quieter cabin environment.
After applying electric vehicle tax incentives, the selling prices for the Standard model are as follows: E-Value+ at 48,560,000 KRW, Exclusive at 50,950,000 KRW, and Prestige at 55,530,000 KRW. For the Long Range 2WD model, the prices are: E-Lite at 50,640,000 KRW, Exclusive at 55,150,000 KRW, Exclusive N Line at 57,450,000 KRW, Prestige at 59,730,000 KRW, and Prestige N Line at 61,320,000 KRW. The actual purchase price will be even lower when government and local government subsidies are applied.
