On July 27 (local time), at TPC Twin Cities (par 71, 7,431 yards) in Blaine, Minnesota, USA, he shot 5-under in the final round of the PGA Tour 3M Open (total prize money $8.4 million), moving up from a tie for 54th place the previous day to a tie for 28th (13-under-par 271). He played a clean round without a single bogey, recording one eagle and three birdies.

However, qualifying for the FedEx Cup Playoffs has become difficult. With only the Wyndham Championship, the final event of the regular season, remaining, Kim is ranked 89th in the FedEx Cup standings. Unless he moves into the top 70, he will not be able to participate in the playoffs. In this tournament, An Byeong-hun, who missed the cut, is ranked 69th in the FedEx Cup standings, Kim Si-woo is 45th, and Im Sung-jae is 30th.

Kurt Kitayama (USA) surged with a 6-under-par 65 to claim a come-from-behind victory (23-under-par 261). This marks his second career win, coming two years after his first victory at the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational. The winner's prize is $1,512,000 (approximately 2.1 billion KRW). Thorbjorn Olesen (Denmark), who shared the lead the previous day, fell to a tie for 14th (16-under-par 268), while Akshay Bhatia (USA) dropped to a tie for 25th (14-under-par 270).
