Chinese nationals who engaged in a mass brawl onboard an in-flight aircraft have been penalized by authorities.

After the cabin lights were turned off, a man who was trying to sleep asked women seated behind him, who were talking loudly, to lower their voices. However, the women ignored his request and responded defiantly.

Angered by the women's attitude, the man hurled insults such as "stupid" and "shut up." Upon hearing these remarks, the women became enraged and a physical altercation broke out. A witness stated, "While the lights were off, the women were speaking too loudly, so the man asked them to be quiet. Afterward, the woman, along with her friends, attacked the man."

In a video recorded and shared by a passenger, a woman dressed in green and wearing a hat is seen climbing onto the seats and repeatedly punching the man in the row ahead. The man shielded himself under the meal tray to avoid the attack, and although flight attendants and nearby passengers rushed to intervene, the fight continued for some time.

The situation was only resolved after one man and one woman from the group sustained injuries. Upon landing at Chengdu Airport, they were met by police. Chinese authorities reportedly placed the man and two women under administrative detention, while the remaining two individuals received administrative fines.

There was no disruption to the flight schedule due to the commotion. The airline stated, "Cabin crew handled the situation professionally in accordance with standard safety protocols," and added, "There was no significant impact on the flight or return schedule."
