On July 28, Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor: Shin Sang-jin) announced that it is offering discounted rates for Seongnam residents at tourism facilities in eight sister and partner cities across the country.
These discounts apply to major tourist attractions and experience facilities in eight cities: Asan, Namwon, Wonju, Samcheok, Gapyeong, Hongcheon, Goseong, and Ulleung. To receive the discount, residents must present an ID card or a copy of their resident registration certificate that verifies their Seongnam residency at the site.
In Asan, admission and experience fees are discounted by 30% to up to 50% at locations such as Asan Spavis, Ecological Insect Museum, Jang Yeong-sil Science Museum, Onggi Fermented Food Exhibition and Experience Center, Gokgyocheon Campsite, Yeonginsan Natural Recreation Forest, Oeam Folk Village, Panicle Land Arboretum, and Paradise Spa Dogo. However, fees and reservation requirements may vary by facility, so advance confirmation is recommended.
In Namwon, Gwanghallu Garden, Chunhyang Theme Park, Jirisan Herb Valley, and Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center Exhibition Hall offer free admission, while the Aerospace Observatory and Children's Science Experience Center are available at a 50% discount.
In Hongcheon, a 50% discount on admission is provided at Palbongsan Tourist Site and Garisan Natural Recreation Forest. In Goseong, a 50% discount applies to the integrated ticket for Hwajinpo Marine Museum, History and Security Exhibition Hall, and Ecological Museum, and a 20% discount is available at Songjiho Auto Camping Site.
In Ulleung, admission fees are fully waived for certain facilities such as Seommok Gwaneumdo, Yeondo Bridge, Cheonbu Underwater Observatory, and Bongrae Waterfall Tourist District. The Dokdo Observatory Cable Car and Tourist Monorail are available at a 50% discount.
In Gapyeong, a 30% discount is offered at Ewha Garden, Jarasum Camping Site, Sanjang Tourist Site, and Kalbongsan Natural Recreation Forest. In Wonju, Ganhyeon Tourist Site (including Sogeumsan Grand Valley and Naora Show) is open to Seongnam residents under the same conditions as Wonju residents.
In Samcheok, a 20% discount is available at Maengbang Beach Camping Site, Jangho Beach Camping Site, and Gagok National Leisure Camping Site, except during the peak season (July to August).
Seongnam City plans to continue expanding exchanges with sister cities and to consistently develop cooperative projects to enhance citizen convenience.
